These photos came from one of our Dolphin World Blog readers. I really love when we get these.  This is what Susie had to say about the photos.

“They were taken when I went on a 30 minute boat ride from Redondo
Beach, California on 12/20/09.  The trip wasn’t specifically intended
to be dolphin watching or anything like that, but we came across a
whole pod of dolphins so we watched them swim around the boat and they came very close.  I had never seen so many dolphins that close before and it was an incredible experience.”

We had the pleasure of picking up Jeannette and Rick at the Best Western Oceanside in Fort Lauderdale. They were taking a Caribbean Cruise but spent a few days extra in Fort Lauderdale and got a chance to swim with the dolphin in Miami.

Jeannette told us that she had an amazing day with the dolphins. Hopefully after she and Rick see these photos, they can put in their own words the experience they had.

Winter the dolphin today, has signed a movie deal, well not Winter, but the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and David Yates, Winter’s handler, signed the deal.

Winter story is very inspirational and I have blogged about Winter before.  On our old blog we wrote  5 – 6 post about Winter’s plight, from finding Winter, looking for a prosthetic tail, and Winter finding a prosthetic tail. There were a lot of stories on the news about how Winter inspired human amputees, including our wounded soldiers coming back from the Middle East.  So I can understand how Hollywood would want to tell this story. Hopefully they won’t ruin it.

Do you think  “Winter the Dolphin” story is worthy of a movie deal? It looks like the the movie company is going to change the story of Winter, boy finds dolphin,  boy gets winter prosthetic tail, and some sort of happy ending. How would you write Winter’s story?

If you are already booked for this program and plan to drive yourself, here is a map to help you. Remember, we do have transportation service from any Resort on the North Shore, Montego Bay to Port Antonio, there is a fee for that. Please contact the local facility for rates.

We had a really nice family from Pennsylvania who were staying at the beautiful Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood Fl and they purchased the Dolphin Swim tour and received this video free.

In the video you can see the special treatment that Patrick and Kayla received because it was like they had a private dolphin session. From October 1 – December 15 can be like that where you have just you and the trainer.  Click on the video and see what the these two blessed children got to experience, a chance to swim with the dolphins in Miami.

Maybe we will get the Merkel family to put some comments on the blog of their thoughts of the day and the swim.

We had a interesting young women, Catherine, from Ecuador that had a great day with the dolphins. Here we have a quick shutter photos of her doing the dorsal fin ride which is one of the behaviors everyone gets with the Dolphin Swim program.
