Do you think this cat would enjoy going into the water and go swimming with the dolphin too? I don’t think so but on the dry dock, this cat just did fine.

Dolphin Meets Iguana

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

Hey There,

Today I was at the Swim with the Dolphins Miami program and something wild happened.  An Iguana Lizard entered the dolphin area and these two breads of animals got a chance to meet each other.  The dolphins were really confused with the Iguana but one dolphin did try to reach out and befriend the Iguana.

Here is a photo of the meeting.

Dolphin and Iguana

Pretty cool huh. The Iguana eventually left but it made an interesting day.
What do you think of this event?

Baby Dolphin is Born Video

Monday, February 14th, 2011

There is nothing more magical that a new born baby dolphin. People from all around come in droves to see this amazing sight. At the facility in Miami, a new baby dolphin was born recently, the mother Samantha is approximately 15 years old and was pregnant for 12 months, and recently had a beautiful baby calf.

Now some interesting facts about dolphin calves. Firstly it would surprise you to know that the average calf weighs anywhere between 25-40 lbs, they temporarily have much darker skin color that their adult counterparts, and the calf will nurse with its mother 1 minute every hour for most of the day and night for a period of 18 months. However 4 months into the feeding the calf gains the ability to eat fish, alleviating some of the stress of feeding on Samantha. The video below gets into some detail about this.

You simply have to watch this heart warming video, of Samantha and her new baby calf.

Above all like the video stressed, Samantha health is most important for the vitality and continued health of the baby calf. The vitamin packed fish seems to do the trick quite well and allows the baby the extra energy needed to get through those first critical 4 months before the baby calf becomes somewhat self sufficient.

An important point not mentioned in the video is that most dolphins in the wild that bear calves, are burdened with extreme levels of fatigue and exhaustion trying to supplement their corresponding calves. Dolphins have a much better chance of surviving and flourishing in dolphin facilities than they do in the wild, due to careful human observation and care.

As always we would love to hear what you think of this video, have you ever seen a baby dolphin calf? Did you know all the facts about baby dolphin calves mentioned above, would you consider doing a dolphin swim in the future?

Until next time, this is Tarek wishing you all the best and may God Bless you all.

West Palm Beach Dolphin Tour

Monday, January 17th, 2011

In our day to day grind we often feel that a vacation is the only real way to let loose and have a lot of fun. Activities like the dolphin swim are a great way to break the grind and hassle and create life long memories for you and your family.  Better yet Dolphin World makes it that much easier to swim with the dolphins with our deluxe pick up services. One of the locations that we provide excellent round trip transportation to is the West Palm Beach area.

We just got in this really fun family, that recently did a West Palm Beach  swim with dolphins  tour .  They had such a phenomenal time we decided to show their fun and exciting experience with the dolphins. Our Pick up service saved them essentially a 2hour trip from their West Palm Beach location to our Miami facility. Along the way they were fully allotted a wide assortment of snacks,  beverages and other amenities while on board the Dolphin Tour Bus.

But the best part of all is the actual dolphin experience, buckle those belts and watch closely as you see the dolphins kiss, play, hug,  shake hands and are even fed by  this over energetic bunch. Its really something to see.

Wow, well as the one guy said so eloquently, wohooo! pretty much sums it up. Overall this is a great experience, and one that really leaves long lasting memories. The dolphins always seem to leave a lasting print and impression among the hearts of those they touch, and it is this warmth and attention that so many seek, but few ever find.

Hope you guys enjoyed the video, as always would love to hear your feed back, what did you think of the video? Did you like the encounter with dolphins?  Would you do the dolphin swim instead and why?

Hope to hear from you soon,

God Bless,

Tarek

New Baby Dolphin “Nalu” Video

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Sea Life Park recently added a very special member to their family, a new baby dolphin. As customary at Sea Life Park, it has a contest called the “Name the baby dolphin”.  The name of this new baby dolphin would be determined by one of the thousands of dolphin lovers around the globe.  This contest allows one winner from anywhere around the globe to send in their personal request of what the new baby dolphin should be named. Also the winner gets a 3 night holiday to the absolutely fabulous and luxurious Sheraton Waikiki hotel and an shallow water encounter with the baby dolphin and the mother.

For Lindsey Caldwell, a 16 year old animal lover from Kuristown, HI, this was a dream come true. That’s right, a local has been chosen as the winner. By the way, in case you were wondering “Nalu” in Hawaiian has the meaning, “Wave, Surf, or Full of Waves”

This video shows the new born “Nalu” playing and swimming in the water.

Wow, absolutely amazing. “Nalu” looks stronger than ever and is very healthy and active. “Nalu” without a doubt, will make a fine  addition to the dolphins at Sea Life Park.  The trainers say that “Nalu” will become even stronger in the coming months.

So what do you guys think about Nalu? Do you like the name?

I know I would want to swim with dolphins in Oahu Hawaii experience  and especially if Nalu is in the water with me.

Hope to hear from you all soon
God Bless,
Tarek

Wild Key West Dolphins Video

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Key West is one of my favorite Florida destinations and you will see why because my family and I did the Key West Wild Dolphin Tour. On this tour, you get to experience wild bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat off the coast of Key West.  I was able to make a  video of this tour.

This tour is giving by Captain Sheri and she explains in the video a little about the tour and what you can expect to experience while on the tour.

Check out the Video….

Would you be interested in taking this tour? I highly recommend this tour and would add this tour onto your Florida Keys activity agenda, especially if you participate in the trained swim with the dolphins Key Largo area program.  This Key West Wild Dolphins tour would really compliments the 1 Day Trained Dolphin day.
God Bless,
John

Also, here is blog post Blind teens connect with dolphins in Florida program where they wrote an article about these students and their experience.

What did you think of this video? Do you think other blind people should do this too?

North Miami Beach Dolphin Encounter Tour Video

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

We had a really fun family from Georgia that was staying in North Miami Beach and wanted to do the dolphin encounter in Miami. Since they booked more than 30 days in advance they get this video FREE because they booked early and reserved the pick up service. The pick up service is where a van comes to your hotel / residence and brings you to the dolphin facility. The video is a great souvenir and as you can see they had blast with the video.

They did the Dolphin Encounter which is the Non-Swim program with the dolphins, which means, they only spend the time in shallow water. But as you will see, you can still have fun in this program too. It costs less than the dolphins swim and may be a great alternative if price is a concern for you. Check out the video…..

What did you think of the video?
God Bless,
John
