Dolphin Program Grand Cayman Photos

Friday, December 30th, 2011

I just had an opportunity to visit the Dolphin Facility in Grand Cayman. It was a great time to visit this beautiful Caribbean island and have a chance to swim with dolphin Grand Cayman style. It was a lot of fun and hopefully these photos will tell the story of my experience.

My Swim with Dolphins in Miami Experience

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

I often write all the time about the dolphins, interesting facts, research, breakthroughs, movies and general information all regarding these amazing creatures. But today I bring something very unique and dare to the table. My own personal first time dolphin experience.

In this blog i will share with you the many high’s and even some low’s of the dolphin swim experience, I didn’t start off in life loving the idea of swimming with dolphins. In fact on the contrary, I was quite intimidated by them. I just didn’t know what to expect from them. Luckily on my first encounter with dolphins, I was not entirely alone, my sister had come along for the experience as well, so at the very least I had someone to explore this new world of dolphin swimming.

Picture 003

This experience began much like I had been told for weeks leading up to the event, first upon entering the facility and checking in, we needed to meet up with the trainers. So they could brief us and the other participants on the proper protocol of how to interact with the dolphins. This in my opinion was one of the few low’s at least i thought that way at first. I was very skeptical of this part as i thought to myself, what protocol with dolphins do you need? You just get in and swim how hard is that? However after thirty minutes of the trainers speaking, I began to understand the importance of what they were saying, while some of the advice was pretty common sense oriented, like don’t be aggressive toward the dolphin, don’t kick, or punch or hit the dolphin in any way. I mean really those are pretty obvious. But something they said I remember would resonate with me and change forever how I viewed these spectacular creatures.

Picture 010

They said one of the most important things when swimming with the dolphins and being with them in general, is to never lose your patience, be relaxed and laid back, and they would be able to literally feel your relaxed energy and as a result be more friendly and playful to you. I took this and applied it to every dolphin experience there-forth and it has been one of the single most important premises for how i conduct myself with the dolphins.

Picture 008

Once finished with the briefing it was time to suit up and get in the water with the dolphins. My sister and I suited up in no time and before you knew it, we were in the water with the others, waiting for the dolphins to make their grand entry and appearance. We were all casually standing in the shallow end of the water and making small talk with the trainer when suddenly this eruption out of the waves occurred, and it happen to be one of the most beautiful dolphin jumps I had ever seen.

Picture 031

With a grand entrance the program kicked off in full force, we first got to stretch out our hands and pet the dolphin. I felt his smooth sleek fine skin rub against my hands and it was like nothing I ever felt before. Almost like rubbing against soft cushion rubber, or against a newly minted sofa, very impressive.

Picture 011

After that my sister and I both had a chance to kiss and shake the dolphins fin, he gave a sweet look and sound as we did it and made my sister and I laugh quite a bit.

Picture 023

Finally it was the moment we had been waiting for, it was that time in the program where the trainers said, “OK we need everyone to line up”. which we all knew meant it was time for the dorsal fine ride. As I was standing in line with my sister, I remembered asking her are you nervous, and she replied, “why would I be because they are all cute loveable little fishies” . Which instinctively made me feel better and cleared much of my anxiety, I watched my sister go and as she held onto the dolphin’s fin. I saw her began to move rapidly across the water and it looked like a lot of fun. My time had come, I did exactly as I was told and I relaxed myself and said time to have fun. The dolphin came around and I grabbed the fin gently but firmly and securely, and I felt the sheer rush go to my head, as the speed picked up dramatically. It was equivalent to being pulled with a small motor speed boat. Without question one of the best times I ever had and one that has shaped my love and admiration for these animals ever since.

Picture 036

So now you know the story of my very first dolphin swim experience, it has changed my life and given me a new perspective about dolphins. It made me want to spend time and write about these creatures as much as possible and to get the word out just how amazing they really are.

Picture 038

Hope you guys enjoyed the blog post and the pictures. Let me know what you think? Have you ever done a swim with dolphins activity? Would you ever consider doing one after hearing this? Do you have any unique experiences with the dolphins you would like to share?

Let us know, until then,

Swim with Dolphin Florida Keys Tour

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

The Florida Keys is one of our favorite destinations and we have 2 tours that bring guests from Key West and South Florida to this tropical destination. Here are a few photos of customers we had recently, the one family was from Chicago and purchased  the Swimming with the Dolphins Key West Tour, which is where we pick up from any hotel or B&B in Key West and bring them to the upper keys for the dolphin program. We picked up this family from the Orchid Inn which they really enjoyed their stay here and had a great time with the dolphins too.

Next, was the Swimming with the Dolphins Key Largo tour where we pick up with our van in South Florida and bring them down to the Florida Keys. This family was from Germany, mother and daughter, and we picked them up at the famous Westin Hollywood Diplomat.  The mother of this family use to come to the original Diplomat in Hollywood when she was a little girl, so this was a special vacation for her because she got to  stay at the Diplomat again and swim with dolphins too.

Dolphin Swim Ritz Carlton Naples Tour Video

Friday, May 20th, 2011

We had an amazing day with customers from the famous Ritz Carlton Naples. They were picked up and got a chance to swim in crystal clear blue waters and be with amazing lovable dolphins by their side. Sounds too good to be true, but we provide such a service day in and day out for many satisfied customers and they received this FREE youtube video as part of their tour.

This customer exemplifies the sentiment of excitement, nervousness and joy all at the same time, watch as she pets, holds, kisses, feeds and ride the dorsal fin ride of these outstandingly beautiful and intelligent creatures. This video is amazing and you can really get a feel for all the tricks and stops of the dolphin swim experience.

This customer clearly was taken for an amazing experience, my favorite part besides the dorsal fin ride where she is pulled by the dolphin through the water. Also, when the dolphin did a really cool tail walk and the dolphin shook hands with the lady. What an amazing sight and how intelligent these animals truly are.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video, it really does make you want to have a swimming with dolphins Naple Florida tour. We do hope you will visit us soon here at Dolphin World.

As always we would love to hear you. Did you enjoy the video?

We hope to see you soon,
God Bless,

St Thomas Ferry Video to Swim with Dolphins

Friday, May 6th, 2011

Hi All,

Many of your are looking for the swimming with the dolphins St Thomas USVI and we have had it for many years.  The only thing, you need to take a ferry from St Thomas to Tortola BVI.

Here is video of your ride.  The ride is beautiful!!

Remember,  if you sign up for the swimming with the dolphins Tortola, you need to have a Passport. I know that is a bummer for many people, but I think more and more of you are getting your passports.

Anyone out there done the ferry from St Thomas to BVI? Any comments about it?

Dolphin Swim Punta Cana Comment

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

Its really nice when someone takes the time and writes us a nice comment about their experience. The Parkinson Family from the UK wrote us about their Swimming with the Dolphins Punta Cana experience. Here is what they had to say….

“Thank you for a fantastic day. The dolphin swim was lovely. My family all enjoyed it. What we liked was that the dolphins were not forced to do any thing they did not want to. One of the dolphins would not do what he was told so they left him and asked another who was very happy to oblige! The Stingrays and sharks meeting was a bonus as we never realised u done this when u done the natyral swim. We had a kiss and a stroke but was not the normal climbing on the dolphin doing the push etc. We knew this thats why we booked it so we could see them being happy. My girls 11 and 14 loved it too. Great day for all the family. We are already looking at doing it again.”

So if you are coming to Punta Cana Dominican Republic and on the fence about enjoying the dolphins there, hopefully this referral will help you book it today. Remember, the summer is coming up soon and it is one of our busier times, so make your plans early!!

Has anyone out there been to Punta Cana. What did you think of this destination for a vacation?

John

Swimming with the Dolphins in Grand Cayman Video

Saturday, March 12th, 2011

The exquisite shores of the Grand Cayman Islands makes this tropical paradise a popular vacation hot spot. Whether by cruise ship or plane, going to the Grand Caymans vacation is always a very fun and exciting experience.

One of the highlights are the Grand Cayman Dolphins that is a must do is the dolphin Royal swim. This swim is definitely the right word to use, because the Royal Dolphin Swim Grand Cayman encompasses everything one could hope for in an interaction with dolphins and more.

Specifically, the Royal swim entails a maximum 45 minute swim, that’s 15 minutes more than any other swim offered on the island. It includes interaction time with the dolphins, where you can hug them, kiss them, rub their bellies, and much more. But the highlight of the Royal isn’t the petting and rubbing of these cute, adorable and amazing creatures; its the Dorsal Fin rides and the toe push activities.

These 2 activities together comprise of the main highlights of the Royal swim, and is the reason why people are always wanting more. First off the Dorsal fin ride enlists 2 dolphins swimming beside you, while you are able to hold on to each of their fins while they pull you through the water at impressive speeds. But, if that wasn’t all, the fun doesn’t stop there. the real eye opener is the illustrious and highly coveted toe push activity. This is where two dolphins will simultaneously come beneath your feet and push you up and through the water into the air , and allow you for at least a few seconds to be airborne. Talk about the activity of a lifetime. they really aren’t kidding around with this one.

Its hard to imagine what all of this might look like, but luckily, I found this extremely cool video of an example of a perfect Royal Swim adventure. You have to take a look at this.

As always id love to hear what you guys think about this excellent video, and your ideas of the Royal swim. Did you like the video? Have you ever done a dolphin swim or even a Royal Swim? Would you think of doing one in the future?

Let us know we want to hear your feedback,
Until next time,
God Bless,
Tarek

Double Tree Grand Key West Resort Tour

Friday, February 4th, 2011

We took our first customers from the Double Tree Grand Key West Resort on the Key West Swim with Dolphins Tour, which means we picked up these guests from this really nice hotel in Key West and brought them in our comfortable 10 passenger van to the Dolphin facility in the Upper Keys. Here are few photos from the tour of the friendly couple from Pennsylvania and the hotel.

Outside Theater of the Sea

Double Tree Grand Key West Outside

They kept saying ” I can’t believe its only 14 degrees at home and a beautiful 70 degrees here in the Florida Keys”. They had a great tour with the dolphins and this day made their dreams come true. They said they were so happy did not have to drive from Key West to the Upper Keys and love that we had the Key West Swimming with the Dolphin Tour.

Well thank you for being our first customers for our Key West tour!! Let’s hope we can fill the van with more customers over Key West Spring Break!
God Bless,
John

PS. This nice couple sent me some  photos and a nice comment….

“I wanted to thank you for the great service and tour for the Dolphin Swim from Key West on the 4th. Here are a few pictures of Lauren and I with the Dolphins as promised. I don’t think Lauren removed that smile from her face for days.  It really was a perfect day. Here is hoping your van service picks up because it really was a great deal!” Best Regards, Brian
