How to Swim with Dolphins

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Many people ask us how to swim with the dolphins because they are nervous or have lots of questions about the dolphin swim. Rightfully so, the dolphins are very big animals and you should know what you are getting into before purchasing the dolphin program.

Here is an article for those that need more clarification on what is going to happen during their dolphin swim. Now the biggest thing is each location we promote has different behaviors and most facilities let the dolphins dictate which behaviors they want to preform that day.

You may have a favorite behavior, like the dorsal fin ride, the peck ride, the toe push, or the free swim with the dolphins. Each can be a lot of fun. As you can see, I really love the dorsal fin ride, this where you get to feel and touch the dolphins, plus enjoy the power and rush of their strength as they pull you through the water. Here is a photo of me doing the dorsal fin ride.

New Swimming with Dolphins Playa Del Carmen

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

You may be going to Mexico and planing on Swimming with the Dolphins in Playa Del Carmen area.

We have a new dolphin program there and it can be something really exciting for you and your family or friends. You can now pick the Royal Dolphin Swim and add on a Manatee and Ray Encounter program or add on a Sea Lion and Ray Encounter for only an extra $20.

Each additional animal interaction are so different than the dolphins you will be playing with in Mexico. The Manatees are slow, graceful, and very loveable. The Sea Lions are fast, animated, and very funny. Finally, the Rays are very prehistoric, group oriented, and thrilling.

US Government Finding Out About Marine Parks

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Should the US Government have more power and regulations over the marine park industry? Well here is an article from the USA Today about this subject and what happened during the Congressional hearing held recently by the US Government.

There is a voice out there that would want to close all marine parks but on the other hand many people also enjoy the education and beauty of these live marine animals exhibits.

Wild Dolphins Photos in California

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

These photos came from one of our Dolphin World Blog readers. I really love when we get these.  This is what Susie had to say about the photos.

“They were taken when I went on a 30 minute boat ride from Redondo
Beach, California on 12/20/09.  The trip wasn’t specifically intended
to be dolphin watching or anything like that, but we came across a
whole pod of dolphins so we watched them swim around the boat and they came very close.  I had never seen so many dolphins that close before and it was an incredible experience.”

Thanks Susie for the photos. I love seeing wild dolphins swimming around.

I hope others send in their dolphins photos to us.
Happy New Year.

Jeannette told us that she had an amazing day with the dolphins. Hopefully after she and Rick see these photos, they can put in their own words the experience they had.
