Bimini, Bahamas Wild Dolphin Encounter

Hi All,

Here is a story we wrote about Sabine Hoffmeister, originally from Germany, now lives in Dublin, Ireland. She is a sporty woman, 35 years old, who loves swimming and outdoor activities, which is a rarity in Ireland. Sabine visited Florida for the first time 4 years ago. Now, she says that she loves the state. Sabine got her scuba certification in Florida through Ocean Promotion Dive Center in Ft. Lauderdale. She participated in Dolphin World’s dolphin encounter once, and the captive program twice, both in the Florida Keys. Afterwards, Sabine felt the urge to try something different. She decided on the wild dolphin encounter in Bimimi, Bahamas. Sabine didn’t hesitate to give this weeklong vacation a try.

Dolphin and Animal Artist that you need to know

Hi All,

You need to check out Melinda’s art work.

She has put a lot of effort in bringing out all of God’s glory in the animals she paints. Also, she  enjoys dolphins which is one of my favorite animals too! You have to see it and you will see she has a passion for the subject matter she is painting. At least check out her site and encourage her with a comment on her skills.

More Info on the L.I. Stranded Dolphins

Hi all,

In case you are interested, please check out this updated article, Long Island Rescuers said they did not know the reason behind the mass dolphin stranding, which happens when animals beach themselves or become trapped in shallow waters. Scientists have also been puzzled by the apparently high number of strandings this winter over a large geographic area, from Long Island to Boston, New England Aquarium spokesman Tony LaCasse said yesterday.

Anybody out there that is involved or witnessing this stranding wish to comment?

Frolicsome L.I. Dolphin Visit Turns Fatal

Hi all,

Here is an interesting article I found from the New York Times online. The locals had an enchantment with a school of dolphins, feeding and frolicking in the local bays in Long Island last week, has turned to alarm, after four of them died over the weekend and the others grew increasingly sluggish and showed signs of distress. To read more, go to: Frolicsome L.I. Dolphin Visit Turns Fatal.

This articles shows how the people are trying their best to help the dolphins. But why are they not going out to sea? That is a puzzle. Is there anyone out there that lives in Long Island and want to expand on this story? I would love to hear your comments.

John

Dolphin Watch

Hi All,

Ann Weaver is an expert on Dolphins and here is an interesting article that she wrote about Dolphins and how playful they are in captivity. Those dolphins who are lucky enough to have toys play like human kids at a playground. They whip Frisbees around, swim with balls in their mouths and twirl chains of bubbles they make themselves.

To read more about about this, go to: Dolphin Watch

What do you think about Ann’s article and how she decribes about playful dolphins?

Dolphin Boat/Sub Can Jump Out of Water and Dive

Hi all,

Did you all see this article on the internet? This is a toy I would have loved to have under my Christmas Tree. This is one wild and expensive water toy. This boat can hold two people and is able to dive up to two feet under water for up to 20 seconds at a time. When the craft surfaces it can jump up to 10 feet in the air and perform tricks.

Check out this story, Dolphin Boat/Sub Can Jump Out of Water and Dive

Any comments or thoughts on this boat?
