Dolphin Hunting in Japan
Hi there,
You know the world is different, people, cultures, and values. What may be correct in one culture, may not be correct in another culture. Well here is a case where the Japanese culture still hunts dolphins for food. I know in the US culture we do not approve of this hunting. This video shows you how the Dolphin hunting is done. WARNING: The Video is very graphic and not for everyones eyes.
After traveling around the world, I have seen how people live so differently than the US, so I really hate pushing our value system on others. But maybe, with some love, the Japanese will change their behavior of this dolphin hunting and find another food source. If you are interested in signing this petition, we can all pray that it will have a postive effect for the dolphins and the people in Japan.
What do you think of this practice? Do you think we are allowed to impose our values on the Japanese?
Have a Great Day!
God Bless,
John

Stop apologizing, there’s no need for moral relativism. Asia treats animals like garbage. China makes fur coats out of dogs, and Japan makes sandwiches out of dolphins and whales. The world should unite and condemn these practices. It’s amazing how there’s outrage about US soldiers slapping around terrorists in detention, but nobody seems to care much about whale and dolphin hunting.

We are supposed to protect animals from cruel and inhumane practices. There is a difference in killing an animal for food and torturing an animal to death. The Japanese dolphin “hunters” torture the dolphins. They trap them and kill babies and family members because they know these animals are family oriented and will stay in the area. They drag them behind trucks and cut their throats and let them slowly bleed to death. How can anyone do this to another living, feeling, breathing creature? Yes. we should impose our values on these barbaric killers.

Watching that video makes me want to take the hunters out and treat them the same way they are treating the dolphins. I can’t understand why anyone would want to do that to such an intelligent species of animals. I think that they really need to be reminded that man is just another intelligent species and that we should treat others as we would wish to be treated.

What can this country(U.S.) do, as far as, cutting off funds to the people who pay for this practice? Do aquariums buy the dolphins from this group? If we do our part to cut off unknown support to these people, and spread the word will that do any good?

Hi Shan,
Did you sign the online petition? That for starters would help.
I know all the dolphin facilities I deal with do not have any dolphins from the this practice. All the dolphins are born at the facilities.
I know eventually it will stop. The biggest problem is that the Japanese love eating dolphin meat. So hopefully their taste will change.
God Bless,
John
