With dolphins, they turn off half of their brain at a time and sleep in the water. This way they are resting 1/2 of the body at a time. The half of the body is awake, so they can protect themselves from eating fish, like sharks. I saw it on French news, they said they had just been discovered off shore of Australia; showed films and a photo to compare it with a bootlenose.It was mentioned on the BBC website this morning but the article has now vanished.
