My First Dolphin Encounter with My Family

Hi All,

One of my “MySpace” friends booked one of our Dolphin Encounter tours where she and her family got picked up with our van and brought down to Miami. Here is the story she wrote up for us. It starts with…..

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by dolphins. Their intelligence, agility, and friendliness captured my heart at an early age.

I would see them on television, but only once or twice in my life have I been blessed enough to watch them jump and play in person. Recently I had the opportunity to take my children for our first Dolphin Encounter, in Miami, Florida. It was an unforgettable experience. < Read More>

It was really cool that Monica took time from her hectic schedule and wrote this story about her first Dolphin Encounter and Shuttle Service. I hope you enjoy it too. Maybe we will see you and your family on one of our tours too!!
Have a great day!!!

Tougher laws to protect friendly dolphins

Hi All,
I read this article about how in the UK they are trying to pass legislation to prevent or protect wild dolphins from Human contact. I looked at this story two ways, one, the debate over wild dolphins and humans, and two, how playful some dolphins are with humans.

This story covers both points. So please read the story to get your opinion.

The story contains…
In the UK, they are trying to pass stronger legislation to protect “friendly” bottlenose dolphins from being “loved to death” is being urged by a leading conservation organisation.

The problem with existing measures aimed at preventing harm to or disturbance of these charismatic marine mammals is that they weren’t designed to deal with problems arising from exceptional individual dolphins going out of their way to court human attention.

Wild Dolphin Encounter

This photo shows people with a wild dolphin in U.K. waters

At Dolphin World, we sell a Wild Dolphin Encounter in the Bimini Bahamas where humans get in the water with the wild spotted dolphins. This trip is done with total respect of the dolphins. The humans never touch or feed the wild dolphins. I have done this Bimini trip and it is an amazing vacation!! The Dolphins have a great time with the humans and also the humans have a blast with the dolphins.

The other part of the story about how curious and playful some dolphins are with humans really amazes me. You really could get very close and befriend a wild dolphin, this story show this. If the education and respect is not there by the humans, the dolphins can be fooled that all humans and boats are good. As we see in this article, all the friendly dolphins mentioned got killed by passing boats.

Do you think it makes sense to make more legislation or do you think we should invest more money in education and safety to protect wild dolphins?

Have a great day!!!
God Bless,
John

Could Dolphins Ease Chronic Pain?

Hi All,

We have been super busy at Dolphin World / Keys Adventure Tours and I have finally had some time for a blog post. I found this article about relieving pain from Dolphin Swimming. I think I could have told them that but I am not a scientist. This story tells how this women, Rose, discovered that her pain was relieved from the dolphins. The story starts with…

Rose, 43, recalled waking up in the hospital after an operation to remove her gallbladder in November 2004. The surgery left her with internal scar tissue that restricted her diaphragm and upper rib cage — and caused her chronic pain.

But Rose, a distance swimmer with miles of ocean races behind her, returned to the water after a few months to recuperate, and got some unexpected help for her pain — dolphins.
Dolphins healing pain
Rose saw a pod of dolphins on her first post-surgery swim. The second time, the pod surrounded her and she swam with them.

But Rose believes her dolphin encounters are more than playful.

“I think they can detect the pain or that something is wrong,” Rose said. <Read More>

I did not know so many people suffer from chronic pain and this story gives hope to those who suffer from pain. I have a strong spiritual side and know that God will relieve the pain with prayer. Also, I know that God created the Dolphins with so many positive qualities, so it makes sense that dolphins can help with pain in humans.

What do you think about this story? Do you think Dolphins help with the pain in humans?

Have a great day!!
God Bless,
John
