Punta Cana Dolphin Experience Closed till April 21, 2008

Hi All,

In Punta Cana, they just had a big storm in March and unfortunately the Natural Dolphin Swim facility there is closed to fix the damage to the Dolphin area. It should be open again by April 21, 2008.

So hopefully this won’t spoil your vacation too much if you are planning on going to Punta Cana. We do offer the tour that flys you to Puerto Plata, so you do have an option.

God Bless,
John

Swimming with the Dolphins in Miami

Hi All,

Here is a good story of swimming with the dolphins in Miami. You will get a better perspective of the program and what goes on there. The story is written by Monica Dyben and it starts with the following…..

Like many people, I am fascinated by dolphins. Their intelligence, agility, and friendliness captured my heart at an early age. They are such marvelous creatures. I have watched them numerous times on television, but rarely in my life have I been blessed enough to see them jump and play in person. So when I discovered there were places to actually go swimming with the dolphins, I was thrilled! I decided to experience a Dolphin Swim for myself in Miami, Florida. It was an unforgettable experience. If you’ve never been swimming with the dolphins in Miami, I highly recommend it. <Read More>

Top 5 Reason to Go to the Miami Seaquarium

Hi All,

I wanted to write this because I go to the Miami Seaquarium all the time and thought it would be cool to write about the top 5 reason why to go to Miami Seaquarium. If you love marine animals and animals, its a great place to visit.

Well here are my top 5 reasons….

Miami Seaquarium

  1. If you love Dolphins, which I do, then this place has plenty of them. From the Top Deck pool, a great place to see the dolphins from the top and a exciting underwater view through plexiglass. Flipper Lagoon, some of the best shows with Dolphins, fun for every one. Then the New Dolphin Harbor with many dolphins to have a hands on dolphin experience.
  2. All kinds of different animals, this place has it all, from Dolphins, Whales, Manatees, Alligators, Deer, Birds, Sea Lions, an amazing Tropical Fish aquarium. You have to see it to believe it.
  3. Dolphin Interactions, you can swim with the dolphins or a dolphin encounter program here. The swim with the dolphin program, or they call it the Dolphin Odyssey, you can have an exciting dorsal fin ride plus other behaviors. The dolphin encounter is great for the young dolphin lover, from 5 years old and up.
  4. Family fun, this place is great for all sorts of families, young and older couples with their young and older children. I love when I see the teenagers that come with their families and the teenage lets down their tough exterior and laugh and have tons of fun. You need come with your family without a doubt.
  5. Location, Miami Seaquarium is on one of Miami’s finest piece of real estate, Key Biscayne and the water on all sides. The views of the bay are breath taking. After your fun day, you can take a swim in the bay, if you have time.

You can not beat all that Miami Seaquarium can provide from the Dolphins, Other Animals, Dolphin Encounters, Family Fun, and Location. Miami Seaquarium has it all. It is a great value and fun for everyone. I hope you get change to go.

Does anyone have some great and fun stories or photos they want to share about Miami Seaquarium?

Top 5 – Swimming with the Dolphins Facilities in Florida

Hi All,

I get many request for the top places to swim with the dolphins in Florida. I have tried them all and I definitely have an opinion. Here is my top 5 and will say why too…

Swimmimg with the Dolphins in Florida

  1. Theater of the Sea – Islamorada, FL – I really like this place, even though the facility is old, but the owner puts a lot of money into the landscaping and the place is very lush with plants and flowers. The Dolphin Swim and Encounter are lots of fun here!! The Dolphin Swim is one of the few places where you get a chance to put on a mask and snorkel with the dolphins and actually swim along side the dolphins while petting them. I love this!! You get see the dolphins under the water and above too. Also, you get lots of behaviors with the dolphins. I really love the Dolphin Encounter here too, you are in waist deep water with the dolphins and really get to pet the dolphin, over and over again. Theater of the Sea also has sea lions, rays, birds, alligator, tons of tropical fish, and overall a great experience.
  2. Marineland – Marineland, FL – They have opened a new facility and the old one is totally gone. I really like the old one but the new one is pretty cool. They built the tanks high up and put big plexiglass opening, so your friends can see you under the water with the dolphins. The behaviors with the dolphins are very good and fulfilling. This place has one of the best views also, built on the ocean, were one side is the dolphins and other side is the Atlantic Ocean, very cool. The only downside, they are still building up the place and it has very limited space.
  3. Dolphin Research Center – Grassy Key – The place with out a doubt has the most programs with the dolphins, Structured swim, Dolphin Encounter, and all kinds of activities with the dolphins. All over this place has dolphins, I think they have the most dolphins beside Sea World in Orlando, and if you are a dolphin lover, you will be very satisfied. The only downside, this place is almost impossible to get a reservation on the phone. I would recommend just walking up and see what they have. You can talk to a person if you walk up to the facility.
  4. Miami Seaquarium – Miami, FL – This place has opened up a brand new Multi million dollar facility and has a lot of potential. The Dolphin Swim has changed many times and the behaviors are alway different and fun. They are offering a Dolphin Encounter now which lets 5 years old to participate which is really good. Secret, if you book the dolphin encounter, it could be just you and the trainer. Not too many people are booking this program at this time.
  5. Discovery Cove – Orlando, FL – This place is has it all going on, well organized, very clean, lots of food to eat and activities to do. The overall experience is very good, the only down side is the Dolphin Swim/Encounter is very controlled and the behaviors are alway the same. The water is crystal clear here and they give you a mask too to look at the dolphin under the water. As you can tell, I really enjoy this. Since they have a lot of sessions, they get you in and out of the water quickly. They do have a trainer of the day program, which I have not experienced.

Well there you go, I hope you like my list for swimming with the dolphins in Florida.

What do you think of my list? Do you agree or disagree?
God Bless,
John
