Hi Alexandra,

Wow, what a great comment post. I have been to Puerto Vallarta before and wondering do you work at Sea Life Park or another place. If it is another place, I would love to hear about it so I can come and swim with the dolphin there too.

God Bless,
John

Hi my name is Alexandra and I am very proud to work in a dolphinarium in México, being a dolphine lover, I am very concerned about the pros and cons of dolphines in captivity and I am always eager to learn more, but I want to learn from people that HAVE REAL FACTS, not from people that have nothing to do with their lives and will oppose anything just for the fun or bitternes of it. So far my experience is that the place where I work has very happy dolphines, most of which have been rescued from close to death situations tanggled up in fishing nets, please use that negative energy, change it to possitive and help change the laws so our governments forbid those nets that not only take dolphines lives but also a great variety of other sea lives. Not only that, the health care of our dolphines is outstanding and there is a veterinarian on site 24hrs x day. Our dolphines are fed balanced diets of fish and squid and only hold two swims a day 10am and 4 pm. So the quest for food and the stress from avoiding natural predetors has been eliminated from these caring and lovable animals, How ironic to realize that we the human beings are more harmful to lifes eco system than this greatful friends of mine. Unlike other trainning systems, Dolphines do not get hurt by whips or leashes to be trainned, they are natural playful animals that are so smart that can be trainned to kiss, hug, hand shake. belly ride, foot push, love and interact with human being in periods of 4 to 6 months, it took me evenlonger to teach my dog to fetch the ball. I am also a witness to the love the trainners have for their dolphines, I have witnessed one whole night of no sleep in the tank holding a sick dolphine, getting up EVERY morning at 5 am to scale, clean, and prepare tons of fish to arrange the daily portions for their beloved babies or the asistence to our spoiled mom giving birth to our baby dolphine. If that is not love, care and concern and well being, I don´t know what is, so next time your down in Ixtapa, México, look me up I´ll be glad to introduce you to my bottle nose friends.

Hi Caroline,
I know there is a lot of pros and cons about Dolphins in Captivity. But I know the ones in Captivity live longer and treated really well there. This is from first hand experience behind the scenes and the care of the dolphins. But it is hard to convince anyone that is opposed to dolphins in captivity.
God Bless,
John

Many of these dolphins are taken from the wild, with little regard for the health and survival of the ones taken into captivity or of the rest of the pod left in the wild.
