Dolphin Swimming Video and More in Puerto Plata Dominican Republic

Hi All,

Everything takes time, finally I was able to get together the DolphinWorld video from my trip to Puerto Plata Dominican Republic last week. I went down there mainly to try the scuba diving with a dolphin, which I did. But still the main draw to the park is the swim with the dolphins in Puerto Plata program, and the other activities, sea lion encounter, shark encounters, and ray encounters. I tried to put it all into the video, so hopefully I got the feel of the park and your day.

How do you like this video? How do you think it came out?
God Bless,

Scuba Dive with a Dolphin in the Dominican Republic

Hi All,

I am back from my trip from Puerto Plata Dominican Republic where I went there to scuba dive with a dolphin there. The dolphin name is Chico and it was an amazing experience with him. I have tried many different ways to be with the dolphin but this is the first time that I have scuba dived with a dolphin.

I have written a story about my experience. The story starts with….

For many years I have scuba dived and always wondered if I would ever see a dolphin while under the water. It has never happened. So the only way to really accomplish this is by going to Puerto Plata Dominican Republic to Scuba Dive with the Dolphin in a contained facility. I was more than happy to experience the dolphins this way and pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed having the instructors explain and assist with this mini adventure, loved interacting with the different behaviors of the dolphins, and took great photos and memories home. < Read More of Story>

I had a great time and would recommend this to anyone that wants to take their experience with the dolphin one step further, into their world, under the water. How many scuba divers do I have out there that would like to try this experience? I would love to hear from my scuba friends.

Discovery Cove – Swim with Dolphins in Orlando

Hi All,

I have just posted this article about Swimming with the Dolphins in Orlando, Discovery Cove. This place is truly beautiful and an attraction to visit if you can. In fact the other day, I saw the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders photographed their 2009 calendar at Discovery Cove.

The story starts…

Situated in the heart of Orlando, Discovery Cove is an exclusive, reservations-only, tropical retreat that offers extraordinary adventures through up-close encounters with exotic marine mammals, marine life and other animals. Just imagine, you can swim with the dolphins in middle of a huge city like Orlando. Also, you will be able to snorkel with coloful fish and rays, and-feed exotic birds and relax on printine, white sand beaches. Besides the beauty, you will be pampered the whole day too with personalized service and first class amenities.   < Discovery Cove Story, Click Here to Read More >

Discovery Cove and dolphin

It’s hard to believe but winter is on its way and tourist will be coming to Florida in truck loads again. At least that is what I am hoping for, but will have to wait till the Presidential elections are over. I am praying for the right guy and women to be elected, so our taxes won’t be raised which will effect us all in the tourist business.

Has anyone out there been to Discovery Cove? What is your opinion of the park?

Detailed Story on Swimming with Dolphins Ocho Rios Jamaica

Hi All,

Here is a follow up to my last post about the photos from our Swim with Dolphins Ocho Rios Jamaica experience. If you want to read a story of our day, here is a little blurb of the story…..

Only a short drive away from the Sunset Jamaican Grand Beach resort, The Dolphin cove in Ocho Rios offers a wide variety of activities including the initial tour of the Facility, the dolphin swim, boat ride, mini jungle adventure, the sting ray experience, and much more. From the hotel we arrived in minutes to the facility, where we were greeted by a kind and warm staff, our tour guide took us through the facility and showed us where each of the features would take place, and showed us the countless gift shops, restaurants and beverage stands that were on the way, if we needed refreshments or got a little hungry.  By the end of the tour we were fully acquainted with the facility and felt more at ease, and were ready for the main event, swimming with the dolphins in Ocho Rios Jamaica…

Dolphin Cove Ocho Rios Jamaica is a Great Place

Hi All,

I am back from my Jamaican trip. Jamaica was way better than I thought. I was not sure what to expect, from all the negative things I have heard but I was pleasantly surprised. We drove up from Kingston and stayed in a great All-Inclusive Resort, Sunset Jamaica Grande, Ocho Rios on Friday through Sunday.

On Saturday we spent the whole day at Dolphin Cove and we had a ball. We did the Dolphin Swim, Ray Swim, Boat Ride, and did all that was included. The swimming with the dolphins Ocho Rios Jamaica programs was so cool because you got the dorsal fin ride and toe push plus other deep water behavior (See the Photos). Also, once the dolphin swim was done you had access to all the facilities Rays, Snorkeling, Boat Riding, Lounge Chairs, Restaurant, and much more. We spent a least a 1/2 day there but could have spent more time. We wanted to see Dunn’s River Falls, almost across the street, about 1/4 mile down the road, but we ran out of time and were tired from all the activities.

If you want to participant in both activities in one day, you need to start earlier then we did. We started the day at 11am, too late. We were really lazy and were enjoying the all-inclusive breakfast too long. Also, Dunn’s River Falls is really busy and the lines can be really long to get in.

I have uploaded some photos from the day. < Jamaica Dolphin Swim Photos << Click>

We are writing up some more stories from our adventure and you will see them online soon.

Swimming with Dolphins in Ocho Rios Jamaica

Hi All,

I am leaving today, with my family, and going to Jamaica. I am excited about the trip because it is my first time there. We are flying into Kingston and then driving to Ocho Rios. My wife is really nervous about the crime and me driving there but we will see how that goes.

We will be at the dolphin facility, Dolphin Cove, on Saturday and will report on the facility and the area. I plan to take lots of photos and write many stories. So I will have a lot to report on when I get back.

Has anyone been to Ochos Rios before and have any feedback for on the place, people, and their experiences there?
God Bless,
John

The Diets of Wild Dolphins

Hi All,

We have been asked many times what do dolphins eat? The food is practically the same for wild dolphins and captive dolphins but it how the wild dolphins get their food which is quit amazing. So we have a story of what dolphins eat and how the wild dolphins get it.

The story…

The methods that these dolphins use to hunt for their food are astounding and simply ingenious. There are many different types of methods such as, herding, whacking, stunning, corralling, and foraging. We will go in depth and analyze each of these tactics because each is used in a different circumstance and ultimately a different situation. Method one, also known as herding, is one of the most common used by the basic dolphin, dolphins ally themselves with one another for the common good, and surround a of school of fish, and then take turns swimming through the densely packed school and eating their fill, until they are all filled, or will find another and repeat the process.

Dolphins vs Porpoises

Hi All,

I always get lots of people say, “I want to swim with the fishes”  or “I want to swim with the porpoises”. Hopefully everyone knows that dolphins are mammals, just like you and me, not fishes.  But many of you may not know there is a difference of a dolphin and a porpoise.

This article is to hopefully show you the difference < Dolphin Vs Porpoises Click Here to read>

Porpoise is much different than a bottlenose dolphin
Here is a Porpoise. Do you see the difference?

Did we miss anything in the article about the two mammals? If we did, we need your feed back.
God Bless,
John
